The Road to Sustainable Transportation

The automobile is an essential element of modern life, providing mobility and economic prosperity around the world. At the same time, automobiles are a major user of energy and other resources, and a significant source of greenhouse gases such as CO2.

Meeting the world’s growing transportation needs while preserving resources and the environment for future generations is the critical challenge facing automakers in the 21st century. In his Wege Lecture remarks, Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford will discuss the dimensions of this challenge and what is being done to meet it, as well as what a sustainable transportation future might look like.

A public reception follows the lecture in the lobby of Rackham.
